Easy fix
When it comes to lower urinary tract symptoms and nocturia (or night time urination), there is one perhaps glaringly obvious solution that we tend to overlook: fluid intake.
One simple behavioural modification we can make to help in the battle against those annoying overnight bathroom visits is setting a time limit for when we stop drinking fluids.
Make sure to hydrate well during the day but then stop drinking at least three hours before your scheduled bed-time. If and when you do get up during the night, avoid those few sips of water from the glass on your bed-side table.
Don't forget that fluids also come in food, with the body extracting said fluids during the digestion process.
Avoiding alcohol - especially beer due to its high liquid volume - late at night is a no-brainer when trying to reduce night-time urination while keeping a diary of what you are drinking and when you are subsequently peeing is also recommended.
