Double voiding?
A lot of men of a certain age will know the feeling: you've just stepped outside the front door and are about to get on with your day when, boom, the need to pee hits you, even though you made sure to use the bathroom shortly beforehand. The frustration is real.
There may, however, be a small, simple step that can come in handy: double-voiding. It sounds like a complicated term, but it is far from it. 'Voiding' is basically a medical term for urinating. But what does 'double-voiding' entail?
Essentially, it means waiting for 20-30 seconds after peeing and then trying again. For people with overactive bladders, it can be a good, basic tool to start using as it helps to ensure the bladder empties completely.
Double-voiding can help to reduce urinary frequency and urgency in some, meaning that frustrating trip back home shortly after stepping outside can sometimes be a-voided (pardon the pun).
