What does a nutrition and health coach do?

  1. Provides general education about healthy eating, lifestyle habits, and wellness practices.

  2. Supports clients in setting realistic health and nutrition-related goals.

  3. Offers accountability, encouragement, and motivation to help clients stay on track.

  4. Shares evidence-based information about food, hydration, stress management, sleep, and physical activity.

  5. Guides clients in developing healthy routines and sustainable behavior changes.

  6. Helps clients identify barriers to success and creates strategies to overcome them.

  7. Refers to qualified healthcare professionals when needs fall outside the coach’s scope.

What a nutrition and health coach does NOT do

  1. Diagnose, treat, or cure medical conditions.

  2. Prescribe or adjust medications or supplements.

  3. Provide individualised medical nutrition therapy for specific diseases (e.g., diabetes, heart disease, eating disorders, etc.).

  4. Replace the care of a licensed physician, dietitian, nutritionist or mental health professional.

  5. Make guarantees about outcomes.
