My name is Paul Bryan. I am a certified nutrition and health coach specialising in helping men in their mid-forties and beyond manage prostate and bladder symptoms, disrupted sleep and the lifestyle factors that connect them, through diet and the choices we make every day. Before that, I spent over two decades as a sports journalist - reporting and editing across European football's biggest stages, from UEFA competitions to the web pages of the Irish Times sports section and Eurosport.
What does journalism have to do with health coaching? More than you might think. A career built on asking the right questions, listening carefully and translating complex information into something useful turns out to be remarkably good preparation for sitting with someone trying to make sense of what is happening inside their own body.
I have lived and worked in Dublin, Paris, Madrid, Berlin and Lisbon, studied Tai Chi in China, and currently live in Gran Canaria, where most mornings you will find me walking along the coast or hiking a mountain trail. When I talk about lifestyle as medicine, I am drawing on a life that has been an extended personal experiment in paying attention to how you live and what you put into your body.
I hold a BTEC Diploma in Nutrition and Health Coaching from the Irish Institute of Nutrition and Health and am a registered member of the UK and International Health Coaching Association.
